ReadKinetic is built and maintained by one person, so every message lands in the same inbox and I answer it myself. No ticket numbers, no chatbot, no template replies.
I usually reply within a day or two. If it is a bug, I often fix it in the same week.
What to write about
Genuinely anything, but these are the messages that help most — and the ones most likely to change the app.
Something is broken
The most useful reports name the file that failed. If a book will not import or comes out garbled, tell me the format (EPUB, PDF, DOCX), roughly how large it is, and what browser you are on. A recent reader wrote in because every EPUB appeared greyed out in the file picker — it turned out two buttons were both labelled "Import". That fix shipped the same day.
Something is missing
Feature requests genuinely drive what gets built. Pulling the publisher's own typeface out of an EPUB, opening books at chapter one instead of the copyright page, and remembering a separate reading speed per book all exist because somebody asked for them.
Something is wrong on the site
The articles here make claims about eye movement and reading comprehension. If you work in this field and something is inaccurate or oversimplified, I would rather be corrected than keep it up.
Privacy questions
Happy to explain exactly what does and does not leave your device — the short answer is that your books never do. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

What I cannot help with
DRM-protected books. If an EPUB carries Adobe or Kindle DRM, no browser-based reader can open it, mine included. Only DRM-free files will work.
Recovering a lost library. Because everything is stored on your own device and nothing is uploaded, I have no copy of your books or progress. If you clear your browser data, it is gone — which is the direct trade-off for me never being able to see it. There is an Export button in the Library for exactly this reason.
Guest posts and link exchanges. I write the articles here myself and do not accept paid placements.
Before you write
A lot of "missing" features already exist but are not obvious enough — that is a fair criticism I have heard from several people. Hold to read, double press to lock continuous play, drag sideways to scrub through the text, drag up and down to change speed. Chapter navigation lives in the bottom-left of the reader.
